What Makes Garfield Memorial unique? What is this church all about?
Garfield Memorial is a multi-ethnic, economically diverse church with no more than 52% of worshippers comprising one ethnic group. Our diversity extends into every category you can think of, from age to politics to learning styles. We believe that the gospel is for everybody, and we seek to live into the vision of God’s kingdom in the New Testament book of Revelation 7:9, which describes heaven as having “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages.”
Our Lead Pastor, Chip Freed, teaches and consults nationally to help other churches transition to greater diversity.
When are worship services & where are you located? What about kids?
What should I wear to a Worship service?
Come completely as you are. Blue jeans or shorts… to a business suit or khakis. People sometimes dress more formally for the Heritage Worship Service (9:30 AM, Pepper Pike only) which is a more “traditional” worship experience held in the Sanctuary with Chancel Choir and treasured hymns.
How long are services?
We do our best to keep it right at 60-65 minutes.
How can I view past sermons?
You can find past sermons here.
Do you serve communion? If so, how often?
We offer communion on the first Sunday of each month in our Sunday worship services and more regularly at our House of Prayer. All are welcome to join in communion at Garfield Memorial.
What is Garfield Memorial’s affiliation?
Garfield is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Members, regular attenders and guests come from all kinds of spiritual backgrounds, and many were not raised in any faith. Garfield Memorial is a safe place to search.
