Erik Stensland is a renowned professional nature photographer with studios in Estes Park, Colorado and Abiquiu, New Mexico. Early in life Erik felt a call to Europe’s Balkan Peninsula, where he and his wife spent a decade in service to the people there. With the onset of the Kosovo War, Erik found himself immersed in coordinating care for one of the largest refugee crises in the world. Erik experienced significant burnout after that experience, which led him to seek refuge and renewal in the beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park. As he took to photography and journaling his own journey, he discovered that he was gaining greater perspective on the inner life and the journey toward wholeness. Erik has written several books, most notably Whispers in the Wilderness and The Journey Beyond that take readers on a quest to rediscover the inner life and the voice of our Creator through photos and deep reflections.
